Objectives: The D-CREDO project aims to improve the skills of health professions students and their teachers in the use of digital health tools for clinical reasoning practice and education. The project will contribute to the formation of a new generation of professionals who can use digital tools and critically reflect on their practice to improve the quality of healthcare services. In addition, we aim to provide educators with greater confidence and capabilities to incorporate these tools into curricula.

Activities: The joint review of literature, choice of learning objectives, setting of policies and guidelines will form an educationa framework. International and multidisciplinary development of new and extension of existing learning units will provide a repository of flexible learning resources. Pilot evaluation of the units at partner institutions will show their quality. Dissemination of the results to the target community and development of a sustainability strategy will conclude the project.

Expected Results: We will obtain a set of adaptable, open access learning units on clinical reasoning, with virtual patients, including the use of digital health tools. We will produce a white paper on learning principles and a guideline to facilitate implementation in the curricula. The project’s pilot studies will demonstrate satisfaction and improved learning outcomes in students and educators. Awareness of the project's results in the community will increase the use of the resources and their sustainability.
